PRIVACY POLICY
Written by Serge Regoor on Thursday 01 January, 2004. Last updated on Tuesday 08 July, 2008

We take high priority in assuring your privacy in any way while visiting or interacting with Archaic Magazine. Thus, with this privacy policy we hope to inform you as good and honest as possible regarding your personal information!

General
Archaic Magazine cares about its visitors, and just like you, we hate unwanted advertisements, unsollicited e-mails and most of all; unwanted (and secret) sharing and selling of private information.
Your information, being general statistics or personal data, will never be shared, sold or in any other way given, to third parties.

Cookies
The Archaic Magazine website does not use cookies, except for the (publically accessible) forum. The forum uses cookies to store your login information, so you are automatically logging in when visiting the forum, when you are a registered user. The cookies used in the forum are never used to retrieve your personal data or storing any other information on your computer, and can be switched off manually (at the bottom of the homepage) or by making the appropriate settings in your forum account.

Statistics
Naturally, we are curious to see what kind of users are visiting our site. We collect general statistic information on every visit through our own statistics system. Nothing is being stored of any personal nature, only the pages you visit are stored so we can see which am_articles are visited on a specific day. Archaic Magazine can only view information regarding the pages visited by you and harmless information such as your operating system version, browser version, screen resolution, etc. No any other individual information is retrieved from your system! We use your general system info to see what user group we get on our site, so we can provide you with the best possible presentation of our am_articles.

Newsletter
The Archaic Magazine newsletter is a monthly mailing to all of our newsletter subscribers, with links to the vm_articles that have been placed in the previous month. You can subscribe or unsubscribe at any time at our newsletter page. Only your e-mail address will be stored in our database, and will be handled with care. Mailings are not sent to all subscribers at once but individually by an automated system, so your address is safe and will never be shared with any third party.
By unsubscribing your e-mail address will be removed immediately (no questions asked) and we will not store your address in any way. If you receive the Archaic Magazine newsletter, you have either subscribed yourself or we thought you might be interested in it, please forgive us if you were not.

Interactivity
Archaic Magazine has a number of interactive parts, such as the guestbook and our forum. No other information than the information you entered, will be used. The information you enter will only be used for that specific purpose!
Because a lot of that information is published publically, we cannot guarantee that information will be used privately. We will do anything possible to prevent abuse of your information, but sadfully there are quite some "services" on the internet, roaming all kinds of websites in search of e-mail addresses. Although condemned by the general internet community, this way of harvesting e-mail addresses for spamming purposes is not prohibited by law yet. Therefore we cannot assume responsibility for this, we hope you understand.
Be careful when posting your personal information on the internet, especially regarding e-mail addresses. Specifying an address such as john.doe@NOSPAM-aol.com (or similar) will fool the e-mail harvesting systems and will be clear enough for other people to decipher.

Surveys
Every once in a while, Archaic Magazine uses a survey to get your opinion on Archaic Magazine or something related. The information you enter is handled with extreme care, and will never be given to others. If you provide your name and/or e-mail address (which is always optional) it will not be used for any other reason except the survey results.
