NYMPHEA AURORA (NED)
DEMO 2009
Written by Ronald on Friday 07 August, 2009. Last updated on Friday 07 August, 2009

Well, here we have the promo from this Doomy Black Dutch band called Nymphe Aurora.

Even when they are labeled as a Doom/Death act, the truth is that musically they are 100% a mix of doom with black metal hints, the death metal influence could be in the voices, as for the approach here has nothing to do either with black or doom.

In fact I would say that the high point of this cool band are the voices, the style ranges from parts spoken to catchy verses perfectly matched with the music. They also use some keyboards that for me look unnecessary given the texture of their sound, which is pretty primitive or maybe rough would be a better term.

The production could be better but at least allows finding out what these dudes have to offer and certainly is a very valid proposal, pretty melodic while depressing but everything packed in a very crude atmosphere, very interesting indeed, in fact, these dudes remind me, in some passages a band called Poccolus, from Lithuania, that used to be around in the mid 90s.

This promo has 3 songs, pretty long each one and following the tradition of Doom bands, so c’mon dudes, here we have an interesting band with quite an original proposal, well conceived and structured, give it a try, it’s really worth.
