LIQUID GRAVEYARD (ESP)
ON EVIL DAYS
Written by Ronald on Wednesday 20 January, 2010. Last updated on Wednesday 20 January, 2010

Labeled as an avant-garde progressive death metal act, here we find a Spanish band called Liquid Graveyard and their recently released debut album “On Evil Days” through Italian label My Kingdom Music.

To start this review, the most notable aspect of this band is the apparition of the monster John Walker, yep, the very same that took part in glorious and cult acts such Cancer or the unforgettable Disincarnate along with James Murphy.

Musically I feel these dudes are into some kind of melodic thrash/death metal, I couldn’t find the progressive clue…at least on what this album contains. I have to be very honest, this is a pretty good band, the problem are those female vocals!!!…they’re terrible!!!... The drums are pretty well played and so on the guitars and the bass, there are cool songs that really show this band has real potential, with other vocalist of course. The sound production is pretty raw but helps to add some aggressiveness the overall musical approach. Not a bad release but go to the next level, well…is clear what they need to do…don’t you think?
