COATHANGER ABORTION (USA)
DYING BREED Comatose Music
Written by Ronald on Monday 01 February, 2010. Last updated on Monday 01 February, 2010

Well, for all those fans of the most extremes forms of Death Metal, here we bring something that definitely is going to capture your attention,  Dying Breed” the debut full length album from US based band,  Coathanger Abortion and released through the growing and sick label Comatose Music.

What we have here is an album that basically relies on a very effective mix of slow passages with intricate parts, the overall sound is pretty raw, and that could lead incorrectly to think that this is another noisy/cheesy band of goofy gore/noise, but it is not, in fact in this record we can hear several guitar arrangements and compositions skills that definitely set aside Coathanger Abortion from other bands in type of genres.

Vocals are pretty sick, low growls all the way around, not very varied but appropriate to the overall concept of this twisted band that track after track tries to take heaviness to a new level, either by increasing the speed or by using their strange kind of disharmonic slow riffs that add some creepy atmosphere of this killer record, for those into music theory, those disharmonic are nothing but pure fifth minus brilliantly used!!!

Finally I can say that something that ties this band to the Gore/Grind/ Noise world is the continuous use of intros in most of their tracks, six out of nine have this and I think if they could try something different, I don’t know just to add something different, however, this is their 1st album, so let’s see what they have for the next one.

In conclusion, what may you expect from Comatose Music if not an extreme release of murderous death metal, if you are into the most extremes forms of music, then this is going to be a must,  …and from where did you get the advise?...where else if not Archaic Magazine!!!
